The Land Registry shows an average house price in May 2014 in England & Wales of £172,035, compared with a peak of £181,518 in November 2007. London experienced the highest annual increase in average property value with a movement of 18.5%. The North East experience the lowest annual price growth of 0.9%.
The Bank of England base rate remains at 0.5% where it has been since March 2009, significantly lower that the dizzy heights of October 1989 when rates hit 15%!!
